Alerts you cannot miss

A loud alarm and a long vibration designed to be heard across a market and understood without reading, because the sound is the receipt a trader actually relies on.

Market traders, riders, shopkeepers, agents — anyone taking payments with their hands full and their eyes elsewhere.

Available

Part of the platform itself: it is present wherever BitriPay runs.

The problem

The standard fraud at a stall is a screenshot. The customer shows a convincing picture of a payment that never happened and walks off with the goods. A discreet notification is no defence; it was never seen.

How it works

  1. A payment arrival plays a loud alarm and vibrates for several seconds, not a short chime.
  2. The screen shows the amount in large figures, a green tick and the payer’s name.
  3. The alert can be tested from settings, so the sound is familiar before it matters.
  4. The same alert reaches the phone app, the web app and the payout device.

What you can check

Facts about the running platform rather than adjectives. Each one is visible in the product, the API reference or the ledger.

  • The alert is designed to be audible in a noisy market and to be understood without reading the screen.
  • It fires on the money arriving, not on a payment being started, so it cannot be triggered by a customer’s action alone.
  • It can be tested from settings, so a trader learns the sound before the first real payment.
  • The same event reaches every surface, so a merchant watching a till screen and a trader holding a phone hear the same thing.

What it costs

Included on every account and every surface. There is no premium tier that makes the alert louder, because an alert a trader cannot hear is not worth selling.

Questions

Can a customer fake the sound?

They can play a recording, which is why the sound comes from your phone and not theirs. Never accept a sound, a screen or a screenshot from the payer’s device — the alert that counts is the one your own phone makes.

It is too loud / not loud enough.

Test it from settings and set the phone’s volume so you can hear it across your stall. Familiarity is the point: you should recognise it without looking.

What if I genuinely did not hear it?

Check the transaction list before handing over goods. The rule is about what you can rely on in a hurry, not a reason to skip looking when you are unsure.
