Gift cards and vouchers
A voucher that is a claim on the issuer recorded on the ledger, redeemable once and traceable — not a code in a message that may already have been spent by somebody else.
Anyone giving money for an occasion, employers giving staff a bonus, businesses running promotions, and NGOs distributing value.
Built, tested and switched off. It is a function of an issuer or an acquirer, so it stays off until the corresponding authorisation is recorded, or until an authorised institution operates it on the platform. Nothing here is offered to a customer meanwhile. This service will be available after the authorisation of the Banque Centrale du Congo; it is switched off by the administrator
The problem
A voucher code is bearer value in plain text. Forwarded to a group, photographed over a shoulder or intercepted, it is gone — and nobody can prove who used it.
How it works
- Issue a voucher for an amount, with an expiry if you want one.
- It is recorded as a claim on the issuer, not just a string.
- The holder redeems it into their balance; redemption happens once.
- A second attempt is refused, and the record shows when and by whom it was redeemed.
What you can check
Facts about the running platform rather than adjectives. Each one is visible in the product, the API reference or the ledger.
- A voucher is recorded on the ledger as a claim, so issuing it and redeeming it are postings rather than a database flag.
- Redemption is single-use: a second attempt is refused rather than silently ignored.
- The redemption record shows when it was redeemed and into which account.
- Promotional value is tracked separately from customer e-money, because a marketing liability is not a redeemable claim and must not be counted as one.
What it costs
Issuing is priced in the dashboard before you create vouchers. Redeeming into a balance is free to the holder.
Questions
Somebody else used my code.
A voucher is bearer value, so whoever redeems it first gets it — which is exactly why it should be sent to one person rather than posted in a group. The record shows when it was redeemed and into which account, so it can at least be traced.
Can a voucher be redeemed twice?
No. Redemption is single-use, and a second attempt is refused rather than quietly ignored. The failure is visible to whoever tried.
Why is promotional value tracked separately?
Because credit you were given as a promotion is a marketing liability of the platform, and money you put in is a redeemable claim. Counting them together would overstate what customers are owed and understate what has to be backed.

Wallets and transfers
A transfer between two accounts is one balanced posting on a double-entry ledger, not a message between two systems that might later disagree.
E-money and safeguarding
An issuance rule the platform refuses on rather than reports on: e-money cannot be issued beyond cleared safeguarded funds, checked at the moment of issuance rather than at the end of the month.
Referrals and growth
Rewards that pay on a real outcome, not a signup, with the attribution and the reward both visible to the person who earned them.
